Here We Go, Here We Go, Here We Go Now. . .
Blog number one. Where to start? Wes has been in the Air Force for a little over a year now. We’ve survived our first PCS. Actually, we’ve done better then survived. We’ve flourished in our new home. Without family nearby, I’ve been forced to step out of my comfort zone and make friends and it has been wonderful! Wes has graduated from his 9 month training and is getting ready to go on his second TDY. He did great during training and more than earned his spot in Elmendorf AFB, AK.
Even though we’ve been in the AF for over a year, I feel like our adventure is just now starting. This coming TDY will be the first lengthy one. I’m not living with one of our parents anymore. It’s just me and the kids for 3 1/2 weeks. Soon after he returns from this trip he will leave Florida for good. Never to return. . . I’ll be the one dealing with TMO (movers) and housing and getting myself and the kids out of here. By myself. It’s my first real test. I’m kind of looking forward to it. Whatever I have to do to get out of “redneck-ville” and to Alaska, I’ll do it! But we won’t be going straight to AK. I’m heading to Nebraska to stay with my parents while Wes finishes up yet another TDY in Oklahoma. Nebraska’s closer to Wes and I figure with us moving to AK for 3 years, it will be nice to spend some time with family. Plus it seems like my entire support system in Florida is moving at the same time!
So here’s to an awesome adventure in the Air Force and my amazing blog! Till next time. . .
